THE RECOMMENDED DOSE AND DIRECTIONS FOR USING SHILAJIT BY DR. INDERJIT KAUR

THE RECOMMENDED DOSE AND DIRECTIONS FOR USING SHILAJIT BY DR. INDERJIT KAUR –  I have read so many articles on Google and various sites but did not find any particular article related to the dose of the shilajit and had received a lot of queries regarding the dose of the shilajit. So, after consulting my textbooks Charak Samhita and my experience of treating patients with shilajit, I have made a table for every age and keeping in view the temperature variation of various altitudes. This dosage is very safe and quite beneficial for every age.

After this prescribed dose article I will write in detail how shilajit acts to fight various diseases and would love to explain its mode of action on every disease, as I have found a lot of articles on its uses on various diseases and its action as an antioxidant, but I will explain what makes it antioxidant and how it works on stating the aging process in my coming articles.

Charaka Samhita states that shilajit should be taken in a hot decoction along with other herbs that alleviate vata, which include qualities of heavy, moist, dense, and heating, most likely warm milk. Charaka Samhita goes on to say that shilajit mixed with iron and taken with milk is an elixir for long life and happiness. It promotes wealth, memory, and intellect while producing sturdiness of the body and preventing diseases and the aging process. Shilajit is available in liquid and powder forms. Always administer supplements according to instructions. If you buy the supplement in liquid form dissolve a portion the size of a grain of rice or a pea size in liquid and drink one to three times a day (depending on instructions).

You can take shilajit powder twice a day with milk. The recommended dose of shilajit is 125 to 300 to 500 mg per day in normal temperatures. Shilajit is safe for everyone. It should not be used with horse gram, the meat of pigeon, Solanum nigrum. Raw and unprocessed Shilajit should not be used as it contains a significant amount of free radicals and has been found to be contaminated with different fungal organisms such as Aspergillus niger, A. ochraceous, and Trichothecium roseum.

I am listing down the recommended doses according to age and diseases. As far as the negative part of shilajit is concerned Shilajit has no side effect or negative effect unless it is taken in excess quantity.
